Sarawak Rivers
Sarawak is also known for its mighty raging rivers besides the vast rainforests. A multitude of life from villagers to wildlife depends on these rivers for their daily sustenance. Hence, rivers are very much an important part of Sarawak’s ecosystem.

LEMANAK RIVER
Lemanak is a tributary of the Batang Lupar River, about 220 km away from Kuching and is one of the most popular river safaris in Sarawak. Many longhouse communities reside on the banks of this river and they are ready to welcome guests into their homes for a life-time experience. Through them, visitors will have the opportunity to glimpse the lifestyle and workings of a longhouse community as well as being entertained by cultural dances and songs at nights. An overnight stay is highly recommended to enjoy indigenous culture in all its best.Lemanak is a tributary of the main Batang Lupar River in Sarawak. Lemanak River Safari, Sarawak will take you to a number of traditional longhouses which can be found situated along the river.

SKRANG RIVER
The Skrang River is another location for longhouse visits as there are many communities scattered around the river. Safari cruises down the river are regularly organised, where you get to sit in the boat and watch the peaceful natural surroundings as the boat meanders through the river. Occasionally, there are some rapids to shoot which provide some excitement. Again, you can plan for an overnight stay in a longhouse where the local Iban people will greet you with rice wine, music and dance. It is certain to be one of the most exhilarating journeys of your lifetime as you continue to cruise along this beautiful river. The river safari in Skrang also brings you closer to a series of wooden Iban longhouses.

BATANG RAJANG RIVER
The Batang Rajang River is the longest river in the whole of Malaysia. To access the river, visitors must go to the town of Sibu, located at its delta. Local speedboats constantly ply the river route, fetching people to coastal towns and districts along the river. Further up are some longhouse villages inhabited by Iban people who will accommodate visitors graciously for a visit. Logs are also frequently drifted down this river.
